“A child left uneducated is a child lost.”
At Maitri, we firmly believe that education is the ultimate catalyst for human dignity and social mobility. Driven by this conviction, Project Maitrigram was launched in 2008 with a profound commitment to providing a robust educational support system for children from economically marginalized families within urban slums. Recognizing that struggling learners often fall through the cracks of a rigid school system, Maitrigram offers tailored remedial and supportive education designed to help every child bridge learning gaps and achieve their full potential.
Beyond foundational schooling, Project Maitrigram is a holistic ecosystem that equips adolescent boys and girls with practical vocational skills—transforming them into self-reliant individuals and productive, contributing members of their families, communities, and the nation.
A core pillar of Maitri’s mission is our dedicated Girl-Child Initiative, focused on shifting the narrative for young girls through three interconnected areas: Education, Health, and Gender Equality.
While vital national legislative campaigns like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao have laid a baseline foundation for change, deeply ingrained cultural biases and systemic poverty continue to perpetuate discrimination against young girls. Maitri works directly on the ground to dismantle these barriers.
True empowerment is a collective journey. By investing in a girl’s education and health today, we are cultivating tomorrow’s leaders, innovators, and changemakers.
