Maitri is proud of its international internship program where students, generally in college, work full-time in the head office for one semester (approximately 3 months). Interns perform a variety of writing and research-oriented projects in addition to having the opportunity to see and work directly with India’s most vulnerable populations. Interns in the past have worked with adolescent children in Shillong, destitute Widows in Vrindavan, and slum populations in New Delhi. Visit the Maitri Intern’s Blog or the list below to read about their experiences first-hand.
Maitri’s interns not only gain meaningful experience working with a Non-Governmental Organization, but they also get to enjoy and experience the culture, cuisine, people and places of India.
The University of Utah’s Hinckley Institute of Politics has partnered with us to create an India Internship programme. Through this programme, 2-3 students from the University of Utah intern at Maitri in India each semester.
